If no owner is found within 48 hours, excluding Sundays and holidays, an impounded dog becomes available for adoption. There is no fee to adopt a stray, and the adoption is final. If the dog will reside within city limits, (s)he will have to be vaccinated against rabies and licensed within 30 days of the adoption.
