Everyone loves their pets and the City of Ephrata requires all dogs over six months of age residing within the city limits to be licensed. Licenses may be purchased at the Police Department and are good for the life of your pet. New residents have 30 days to license their dogs.
Fill out the Dog License Application and provide Proof of Rabies Vaccination to apply for a dog license. The proof of Rabies Vaccination must contain the name of the veterinary clinic name, the dog's description, the issued rabies tag number and the date of vaccine expiration or administration with the booster length (1 year/3 year).
The fees are as shown below:
Please follow the instructions listed on the Dog License Application.pdf. Please contact the business office via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 509-754-2491 for any questions regarding this process.
If your pet is missing, you may contact the Ephrata Police Department, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. If your dog has been impounded there are fees that must be paid for the animal to be released. There is also a daily fee for room and board of $12.10 per day.
Adopting a Stray
Unclaimed dogs are surrendered to local Grant County animal rescues/shelters. Those wishing to adopt a dog surrendered from the Ephrata Police Department are subject to the specific application requirements, fees, and approval of the specific animal rescue or shelter.
If you would like to adopt a listed animal, please contact the business office via email at email@example.com or by phone at 509-754-2491 and your information will be passed on to the animal rescue/shelter the dog is surrendered to.
